After a decade of working for some of the country’s top designers including David Easton, Charlotte Moss, Victoria Hagan, and most recently, Ashley Whittaker, Chauncey Boothby has ventured out on her own.

Through these years of experience, she has cultivated an aesthetic that is classic yet contemporary in feel and she strives to capture that sense of style with each and every project.

With high attention to detail and an ability to understand the client’s innate tastes, Chauncey creates a personal setting that is not only lovely, but livable too.

She has worked on projects throughout the country including homes in Montecito and Beverly Hills, a ranch in Montana, seaside cottages in Maine and Martha’s Vineyard, seasonal retreats in Palm Beach and Hobe Sound, and a number of projects in the Hamptons, New York City and surrounding suburbs.

Boothby, a Maine native, credits two years spent under the tutelage of Charlotte Moss (she has also done stints with David Easton and Ashley Whittaker) for spurring her love of unconventional techniques: “Charlotte once sent me into the trenches of Manhattan’s Garment District to hunt for the perfect gray wool pinstripe to upholster the walls of a powder room,” she recalls. “From her I learned not to limit my resources, because you never know when or where inspiration will strike!”

But Boothby insists that resources don’t have to be costly or exotic. “Paint can transform anything,” she says. “It can take a white box of a room and make it a cozy den, make outdated cabinets look new again, or rejuvenate old furniture. Can’t afford curtains? Paint the window trim, and the room will look finished. It’s magic.”

This home located in Prouts Neck, Maine is simply delightful.

She chose a color palette of white, blue and salmon and utilized these color accents throughout her interior which offers a soft and subtle continuity.
