Sometimes you just need a good, go-to yarn that comes in a million colors, is easy enough to launder that you can gift it to anyone, and isn’t a zillion dollars. That’s where Kraemer Yarns’ Perfection Worsted comes in. It’s one of those yarns that has a good combination of wool and acrylic that gives makers many of the advantages of wool yarn. However, the acrylic adds some softness into the mix while also making the yarn more affordable to buy and easier to wash than something that’s, say, 100% wool. The big thing that separates Perfection Worsted from the pack of other wool/acrylic blends (since there are definitely a few out there) is that it’s made in the United States with American wool. Skein details: ~200 yd / 3.5 oz (100g) skeins / 30% U.S. Merino Wool / 70% Acrylic
Knitting needles: US 8, 5 mm / 14 sts & 20 rows over 4 inches (10 cm)
Crochet hook: US I-9, 5.5 mm / 15 sc & 18 rows over 4 inches (10 cm)
Cons: It’s still 70% acrylic, although that very much helps make the yarn more affordable and easier to launder.
Pros: Perfection Worsted is an all-purpose yarn available in over 70 colors. If you are looking for a yarn that’s budget-friendly but still contains real wool, Perfection is a great pick for so many projects!
Pattern Ideas: Since this is a worsted weight acrylic blend yarn, I’d be remiss not to suggest the Intarsia Mountain knitting pattern, which was designed with exactly this sort of yarn in mind! Crocheters could definitely give my Granny Throw Pillows a try with Perfection too.
