Gravenwezel Castle lies in a village of the same name, just northeast of the city of Antwerp. Earlier the doors were open to the public, but today the castle is exclusively private. Antique and art dealer Axel Vervoordt, thereby took the opportunity to decorate it with his own unique style. On the ground floor of the castle, he kept the spirit of place by surrounding himself with furniture and objects of choice. The style mixes antiques and art pieces of a great contemporary painter. For his apartment, he created architectural spaces entirely based on the Japanese style”wabi-sabi”, in which he states his approach to art and his philosophy of life.
