The viscera of the human body—particularly the mouth with emphasis on the tongue—is ever-present in Ýrúrarí’s designs. Mouths with their tongues sticking out and teeth with braces decorate the bodies and arms of her sweaters and also form the basis of her balaclavas. Unexpected and playful, they add some welcome color to cold-weather gear, which can be very dark and drab. Ýrúrarí’s work encourages us to cooler temps with the same sort of fun we might pair a festive vacation shirt in the summer.
