With a good amount of must visited addresses in the Brera area in our pockets, we decided to visit one of our favourite design districts for years on one of our first days in Milano. I found so many great design already in the first few hours of
Spice Route Outdoor Collection
For Milan Design week the The flagship store of Golran was dedicated to the Spice Route Outdoor Collection by Piero Lissoni, with graphics of the shop windows designed by Lissoni Graphx. The Spice Route collection takes its name from the trade route that connected the old European continent to India and is the first collection of outdoor carpets from .
Characterized by simple geometries inspired by exotic cartography,the collection brings to mind the long voyage that connected worlds which were once poles apart, a pathway of colors and perfumes that reminds us of how different cultures and traditions must engage in dialogue for their mutual enrichment. All carpets are hand knotted flat weave and made out of 100% Recycled PET! I thought they felt and looked really amazing. The Nomadic story of Golran
Their nomadic story began in 1898 in Mashad, Persia, with the trading and manufacture of carpets, emulating to some extent the destiny of the objects they produce: headquarters in Milan since 1968, production in Nepal from early 2000, art direction in Paris as of 2010, global marketing right from the outset.
The business Eliahu, Elia, Nathan and Benjamin inherited from their great grandfather Hajizadeh Golran, then handed down by their fathers, Nemat and Ruben, along with the teachings of the great master knotters in Persia, Turkey and India form the precious cultural background, now accessible to the design world and tailored to the technological evolution.
