Dark and decidedly slick, these black and grey interiors push the boundaries on great taste and modern home design. Charcoal living rooms play on a theme of shadows and highlights to shape layouts that are intriguing and ambiguous. Slatted dividers, stone walls and textured elements take on added prominence in the low light. Graphite kitchens skim the edges of living rooms, falling away to let areas of comfort take the lead. Lounge furniture takes on a sculptural quality in stark surroundings, whilst cool art and contemporary home accessories shake up the darkness with quirky silhouettes and abstract motifs. Black dining sets are lit from overhead by eye-catching lighting designs that burn through the blackness.

A white Doric column cuts thickly through the black and grey interior of this Moscow studio design, demanding the layout to work around it.
A modern sofa configuration is pulled around the base of the column, facing both toward the TV and into the room behind.
Solid oak flooring lightens up the decor scheme and introduces texture.

Our second home design features much larger windows, but the interior design is made equally dark with charcoal grey and black elements.
A linear LED floor lamp interrupts the darkened room. A thinner LED ribbon strokes the top of the window wall.
KAWS statues loom out of the shadows, their outlines kissed by low light from the window wall.
A pair of oval coffee tables scoop out the centre of the lounge, their rounded bases darkening into obscurity.
A modern sectional sofa is separated into pieces to form the outline of the lounge layout.
The kitchen’s linear suspension light spans the entire length of a long stone island, which is set with an induction hob and the kitchen sink.
A wall of full height black cabinets is interrupted by a glass cabinet. Soft lighting illuminates the wine glasses stored inside.
The wine glass cabinet is set dead centre behind the kitchen island, creating satisfying symmetry.

Brown accents interrupt the black and grey decor scheme of home design number three. A mocha coffee table lays down a circle shape theme that is repeated in abstract wall art behind the sofa. A novelty floor lamp introduces a sculptural element.
An area rug adds texture beneath the round coffee table, and a houndstooth pouf brings in bold pattern.
Quilted cushions pile up on the sofa, layering in extra comfort.
The pouf is seated close to the TV wall, which is fitted with custom built cabinetry. A nook is positioned low in the wall, replacing the traditional fireplace.
The dark kitchen falls back into the shadows, resting quietly alongside the lounge.

A halo wall light commands the black living room of home design number four. The light feature accentuates a KAWS statue by the home entryway and an industrial style rack for shoes.
Brown accents come into play here too, in the form of a modern sofa design.
The brown leather sofa looks light against a charcoal grey backdrop. White pampas and a white fluffy area rug further lift the scheme. A black Eames bird makes a stark addition to the pale stone coffee table.
White modern dining chairs lift the look of the black kitchen diner. Glass dining room pendant lights cause liquid-like reflections above the round dining table.
A brown floor bed is complemented by golden accents in the grey bedroom. A rugged black stone headboard wall features another sleek gold halo.

Our final home design is a graphite and pale oak model. The living room area rug brings in a modern geometrical element.
Black and white artwork is propped informally against the foyer wall, creating a transition space between the entryway and the kitchen.
The black media cabinet and bookcase are one integrated unit, giving the wall a clean and simplified aesthetic. Coloured inserts break up the flat black stacks.
Indoor plants brighten the dark interior, and add height at the centre of the layout and dining room table.
A blue glass vase adds a subtle drop of colour into the monochrome room. Glass fronted cabinets give the dark kitchen a more open feel and a light reflective quality.
