Norra Tornen is a new residential project from Stockholm developers Oscar Properties. Designed by Office for Metropolitan Architecture (OMA), one of the world’s most renowned architectural firms, the contemporary residential apartments are divided across two landmark buildings offering a 30-degree panoramic view of Stockholm. At a height of 125 meters, and 110 meters, respectively, the two towers are the highest residential buildings in Stockholm’s city centre and stand as a gate to the city. Interestingly, the initial building envelopes – the remains of a cancelled project initiated by the former city architect Aleksander Wolodarski – have been radically transformed from an initial implied architecture of monumentality to a more domestic articulation. The once formalist structure is now housing apartments that are surprisingly informal, designed with the human element in mind. Here’s a look inside the stunning Helix Penthouse apartment.
The Helix Penthouse is currently for sale via Oscar Properties.
