Even a year after releasing several images, LUMICENE finally presented one of their first LUMIPOD to a private client in the French Alps. LUMIPOD is basically a prefabricated house that offers a natural experience in new luxury. A night experience surrounded by nature, in absolute silence. As a wise spectator of nature, which makes us lose contact and LUMIPOD bring that desire to reconnect. LUMIPOD has a minimum area of 18 square meters, consisting of a bedroom, shower area, toilet and wardrobe. Despite having a minimalist configuration, LUMIPOD is designed without sacrificing comfort to bring you a unique experience of reconnecting with nature.
Design
LUMIPOD using a new concept in the form of curved glass in aluminum frame that slides between the two rails, allowing the interior space is converted smoothly into outer space. When you want to keep it closed, LUMIPOD becomes a comfortable and protective cocoon completely immersed in nature. With just one move, LUMIPOD can remove the boundary between interior and exterior to provide an unforgettable experience. Now you can stay in upscale hotels surrounded by nature. Perched at an altitude of 1,000 meters above sea level, in the heart of pine and oak forests, LUMIPOD offers beautiful mountain views while blending in harmony with the landscape.
LUMIPOD wrapped with black douglas exterior cover, this refers to the Japanese tradition Shou-sugi ban. The interior is made as comfortable as possible following upscale hotel standards, the cabinets and floors are made of natural oak. The ceiling was covered with merino wool fabric. The curtains across the glass surface allows to protect from sunlight.
If you are interested LUMIPOD is now available in 3 sizes: 5, 6 and 7 meters in diameter, from the 18m2 minimalist bedroom to the 36m2 family cocoon. The cabin consists of 2 half modules built in our workshop, compatible with land and sea transportation, and assembled on site within 2 days. LUMIPOD now available in Europe in which the first unit seen in this article. Production lead times are currently around 3 to 4 months depending on size and options. Soon, LUMIPOD will also be available soon in the United States, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.
