Introducing nau 2022

Launched five years ago, nau is a contemporary design brand celebrated for championing a uniquely Australian creative vision. Known for producing versatile furniture pieces that span both residential and commercial applications, nau is proud to release its latest collection by award-winning designer Adam Goodrum, including the Lincoln sofa, Furl coat stand and Nest Monochrome tables.

Carving out a fresh perspective on authentic Australian-made furniture, nau’s 2022 collection will be unveiled at Design Show from 20-22 October in Sydney. Ahead of this exciting debut, I’m pleased to share the beautiful new collection imagery shot at Queens Park House in Sydney, Australia, designed by Tribe Studio Architects.

Lincoln Sofa by Adam Goodrum

Lincoln is a new sofa collection that channels the practical prestige and luxurious functionality synonymous with the Lincoln Continental vehicle ranges of the 1970s. Inspired by the car`s generous long lines, proportions and low clearance chassis, the design of the Lincoln sofa collection is characterised by the same classic elegance and deep proportions.

Lincoln is available in fixed-width sofas, as well as single-seat and ottoman sizes that can stand alone, and can be configured to create dynamic environments at scale. The sofa can be customized with armrests, without armrests or with closed sides to create a side-by-side setting or an L-shaped configuration. The upholstered seat, backrest and armrests are all mounted on a wooden sled. Small floating coffee tables can also be added to the ends of the Lincoln sofa in solid timber in Walnut, Natural Oak and Black-Stain Oak. All fabric and leather upholstery on the Lincoln sofa has been generously provided by Kvadrat Maharam.

Furl Coat Stand by Adam Goodrum

With its gestural tree-like form, the Furl Coat Stand is a piece of functional sculpture. Each quadrant is steam bent, spreading at the base like roots, and unfurling at the top to form the boughs of the coat stand. These boughs provide space for coats and hats, while brass pegs accommodate bags. The Furl coat stand is available in Walnut, Oak and Black-Stain Oak.

Nest Monochrome Tables by Adam Goodrum

First released in 2016 in timber, Nest is a set of two tables that can function nested together or as stand alone pieces. Stacked to create totemic shapes, they also cantilever over sofas, beds and chairs, or simply float around a room providing a space-saving and flexible alternative to a coffee table. Now in 2022, the bestselling Nest tables are given a colourful makeover with powder coat metal in four vibrant new colour options: Red, Green, Grey and Blue.
