My kids are crazy for dinosaurs and I thought I’d make them matching DIY Valentine’s Day shirts! I love simple graphic appliques; I think they look cute even past the holiday and are fast and easy to make. If I’m being honest, they would’ve preferred a T-Rex, but I didn’t have the patience to draw all those little claws and curves! I have a free download for the heart filled dinosaur applique; you can either use a vinyl cutting machine like I did, or stay thrifty and use freezer paper.

I used Cricut Iron-On* and my Cricut Explore Air 2* that they sent me in exchange for this post with a fun dinosaur matching game. My friend Shelly organized this as a Valentine’s Day Cricut blog hop, scroll to the end of see what everyone else made!
If you don’t have a Cricut or similar machine, you can go the thrifty route and print the PDF, using the freezer paper method with fabric paint!
Have you ever tried to take a picture of 2 kids holding hands? It was not for the faint of heart! Suckers were definitely involved.
I think this is a fun, easy DIY Valentine’s Day shirt that any dinosaur loving kid would be excited about; it was the highest compliment when my son asked “Can I please wear this the rest of the day?!”.
