This year, my more selective approach to 3 Days of Design, read here, focusing on group exhibitions and established thematic groups, proved to work well for me. More or less continuously switching through the various districts of the 3 Days of Design website, I comfortably moved from one exhibition to another. One of the exhibitions I was curious to find out more about was the first contemporary Australian group exhibition.

Latitude: 55°N Meets 12°S

Curated by Claire Delmar, ‘Latitude: 55°N Meets 12°S’  brings together a group of contemporary Australian designers working with light as a starting point. The exhibition moves between northern and southern atmospheres, where daylight shifts from soft, muted tones to a sharper, more direct intensity.

The participating designers explore how light interacts with material. Glass captures and redirects light, textiles soften or filter it, and sculptural surfaces absorb or scatter it depending on their finish and form. Light is used as something that is worked with rather than represented.

Across the works, reflections, transparency and texture shape how light behaves on each surface. The material choices determine how each object is read within the space.

Claire Delmar is a Sydney-based interior stylist working across residential and commercial projects, as well as editorial and campaign styling. She collaborates with architects, designers, media and brands in Australia and internationally. Her work focuses on colour, texture, material and tone, and is regularly featured in Australian and international publications.

I will highlight a few of the exhibitions from these days in separate posts, while the rest will appear on Instagram. My Instagram highlight 3 Days of Design 2026 will remain as a permanent archive of images I made throughout the festival, gradually building a visual impression of these days in Copenhagen.
