I used to be a fan of rather minimal homes. Not the extremely clean ones, but I loved a minimal approach to decorating. Now at this point in my life, coziness, personality, and character are the things that are so important to me when decorating my space. I believe combined with a few key furniture pieces, it’s all in the combination of accessories. It’s with the details that you can add a personal touch that characterizes your home as your own I believe.
This beautiful Swedish home has been decorated in a rather eclectic style, with a mixture of many prints, textiles, and patterns and I love the effect it has in this interior. The light-flooded living room with windows on both sides seems to be the center of the apartment and I love the way the window sills are filled with small objects and lamps. I always advise my clients to pick out their furniture in neutral colors and work with the details that are easy to change out to add a personal touch. In this living room, the light beige linen sofa is the perfect backdrop for the many pillows in beautiful pastel colors with flower patterns. I think the vintage armchairs fit this look so nice as well and I love the way the Ikea Ivar cabinets warp around the corner and turn into open shelving next to the fireplace.
The custom-built kitchen is beautiful as well and I love the tiles on the wall, which add a certain irregularity to the otherwise clean finish of the marble countertops. The black metal glass vitrine cabinets above the counter are perfect for displaying a selection of ceramic pieces and the vintage dining table is in perfect contrast against the light color of the kitchen.
