Dahlias are a beautiful bulbous perennial from the Asteraceae family. The origin of this plant is from Mexico, Central America and Colombia. There are at least 36 species and many varieties of them. Every sub-species is special in its own way, there are low and high, cactus, single, double … They can be low of some 10-15 cm, and up to 1.5 meters in height. They are very sensitive to low temperatures and bloom during the summer until the first frosts. Dahlias adore the sun, watering them is only necessary in case of drought.
