Although small, this studio apartment (Styled by Asa Copparstad, photographed by Frederic Boukari for Historiska Hem) features custom built-ins for ample storage. The homeowner chose a smart layout to maximize space.
Long Wall Shelves Line the Living Room
Two long, wall-mounted shelves mounted higher up near the ceiling give this small living room tons of space for books, decorative items, and more without cluttering it.

A stylish wood table and chairs are neatly nestled into the corner, creating a convenient place for eating meals that isn’t on the couch. The bright yellow painting and sunflowers add a lively touch that keeps the home from feeling too cramped.

A set of swinging windows/doors not only fills the home with lots of light, but it also lets in fresh air and gives the homeowner a nice escape to the balcony outside.

Wood Tones Complement the Compact Kitchen
Natural wood cabinets flow from the hardwood floors into the kitchen, creating a cohesive space with an element of earthy-inspired appeal.

Adjacent to the kitchen is a massive picture window covered with linen curtains, letting the warmth of the sun flow into the space.

The unique two-toned walls feature ochre and white, giving this kitchen a distinct look.

While this kitchen is small in terms of square footage, the smart layout allows for all of the essentials for easy cooking.

A large cutout above one section of the countertops brings in more light and helps to make the kitchen look and feel more open.

Earthy Brown Tones Bathe the Bedroom in Warmth
The brown hues carry into the small bedroom, giving it a warm and welcoming vibe. A simple yet modern black pendant light adds a pop of contemporary style.

The built-in bookshelf around the door provides a smart space for books and other items while eliminating excess clutter.

Next to the bookshelf is a tall built-in armoire, also in beige, that serves as a storage closet.

Wire Shelving is Added to the Hallway
Black metal wire shelving with hooks gives this home’s hallway plenty of space for coats, jackets, purses, and shoes.
