We always prefer to avoid the crowds on Valentine’s Day and would rather chill at home with a romantic dinner. The sunroom proved to be the perfect spot to set up the most romantic dinner and of course Glory the fig had to get decorated for the occasion. Here are 10 tips that you can use to make this Valentine’s Day your most romantic yet- right in the comfort of your own home!
1. Plan the Menu: Select dishes that you both enjoy and that have a touch of elegance. Consider your partner’s favorite foods and any dietary restrictions. Aim for a balanced meal with appetizers, a main course, side dishes, and dessert.
2. Set the Mood: Create a romantic ambiance with dim lighting, candles, and soft music. Consider decorating the table with flowers, rose petals, or elegant tableware. Use your best dishes and glassware to make the evening feel extra special.

3. Cook Together (Optional): If you both enjoy cooking, consider preparing the meal together. It can be a fun and intimate activity that allows you to bond and create something delicious together. If one of you prefers to take the lead in the kitchen, the other can help with tasks like setting the table or pouring drinks.
4. Choose a Signature Cocktail or Wine: Start the evening with a special cocktail or a bottle of wine that you both enjoy. Consider making a romantic-themed cocktail or selecting a wine that pairs well with your meal. Don’t forget to have non-alcoholic options available as well.
5. Serve Appetizers: Begin the meal with appetizers to whet your appetites and set the tone for the evening. Choose light and flavorful options that won’t spoil your appetite for the main course.
6. Cook with Love: Whether you’re cooking together or preparing the meal solo, put love and care into every dish. Cooking with intention and attention to detail can make the meal even more meaningful.
7. Keep it Simple: While it’s nice to prepare a special meal, don’t overwhelm yourself with overly complex recipes. Choose dishes that you feel comfortable preparing and that won’t require too much time and effort in the kitchen.
8. Personalize the Experience: Consider incorporating personal touches into the evening, such as serving dishes that hold special significance for your relationship or including a handwritten note or card expressing your love and appreciation.
9. Enjoy Each Other’s Company: Above all, focus on enjoying each other’s company and savoring the moment. Put away distractions like phones and electronics and take the time to connect and truly appreciate one another.
10. End with Dessert: Finish the meal with a decadent dessert to satisfy your sweet tooth and cap off the evening on a high note. Consider classic romantic desserts like chocolate-covered strawberries, molten lava cakes, or my personal fave- tiramisu.
Remember that the most important thing is to show your partner how much you love and appreciate them, so focus on creating a thoughtful and memorable experience that celebrates your relationship. Are you a homebody kind of person or do you prefer braving the crowds for Valentine’s Day?
