I’ve been thrifting more regularly again lately. In CO I was thrifting with my brother every weekend and I’ve really missed it! I’ve been picking up some little pieces to makeover almost every time I go and this week I gave this $2 thrifted stool a makeover! I finally tried the oven cleaner wood stripping technique and it worked super well on the weird black finish that was on the legs. I did try it on another project too and it did nottt work as well. Apparently I need to do a little research to figure out what type of finishes/woods it works best on.
If you’re interested in more thrift flips, we’ve done a few in the past and we’ll be sharing more soon!
What I used:
I started by using a hammer and pliers to pull out the upholstery nails.
Removed the fabric and padding.
Sprayed oven cleaner all over the wood and let sit for 30 minutes.
