In Cat Rabbit’s world, fuzzy alpacas are paired with beautiful blooms, fruits, and vegetables. The Melbourne-based maker, known for her small soft sculptures, created a very limited edition series aptly called Alpaca Planter in which the posable creatures have Liberty print cotton blankets draped over them and boxes, bowls, and pots that are precariously balanced on their backs. The 10 alpacas are incredible in their attention to adorable details from their fuzzy faces to all the different plants they have in tow.
Each alpaca is unique but built the same. Cat is a doll maker at heart and placed armature wire in their limbs to allow for different poses like running, walking, or kneeling. Of one of her pieces, she writes, “This alpaca has many moods and the bendiness to accommodate them all!”
