One of the most iconic chairs, in my opinion is the famous Roly Poly armchair by Faye Toogood for Italian Driade. Faye Toogood is a British artist working in a diverse range of disciplines, from sculpture to furniture and fashion. Her works have been acquired for the permanent collections of institutions worldwide. When I recently spotted the armchair in a beautiful minimalistic interior I knew I had to show you the images.
Driade is an Italian brand and creates furniture and accessories that are unique, eclectic, eccentric and at the same time elegant, timeless and, above all, cheerful. The collection includes works of art and objects for everyday use, which flow harmoniously into each other. Their collections can be found inside homes all over the world as well as outdoors in gardens and beach clubs at the Costa Smeralda.
Roly Poly armchair
The Roly Poly armchair caught my eye years ago! The Roly Poly Collection, consisting of an armchair and a sofa, is the kind of furniture that you will find at the home of the true Design furniture lover. But also those who are a fan of sculpture furniture as well as galleries will appreciate this collection.
Faye Toogood’s love of sculpture is evident in the sculptural Roly Poly armchair, earlier I showed you other of her characteristic pieces spotted at Oliver Gustav. The characteristic of these monobloc furnishing accessories is the bowl shape of the seat, rounded and welcoming, with cylindrical legs and delicately linear shapes that give it a reassuring and massive look.
Made of rotationally molded polyethylene, the low seat has been enriched with soft padded cushions that nestle in its curved shape for an engaging sitting experience. Armchair and sofa are available in a variety of colors to complement any type of interior or exterior decoration.

Roly Poly Sofa
For those who love to complete their indoor or outdoor sitting area there is also The Roly Poly sofa. This 175 centimeter long sofa, just like the chair, embodies the concepts of furniture and sculpture, thus representing the philosophy of Driade in a perfect way. Also the sofa is available in different colours, from ochre and cement to charcoal black.
