THE POSTER CLUB Launches New Collection by Malene Birger

Former fashion designer Malene Birger is launching a new collection of six art prints in collaboration with and exclusively for THE POSTER CLUB. A dedicated and passionate artist and art collector, Malene Birger is a true creative with more than 25 years experience within the global fashion industry. Both her name and prior brands – she co-founded successful fashion houses Day Birger and Mikkelsen in 1997 and By Malene Birger in 2003 – have secured her reputation for uncompromising style and attention to detail. Over the last few years, the Copenhagen-born artist has led a nomadic life of moving, renovating and creating, while developing interior and art projects. Currently working from her studio in Lake Como Italy, Malene’s painting, graphic design and visual arts play a vital role in her work and style.

Malene Birger´s art is expressed in strong, abstract and graphic forms, mostly developed in monochrome colours. Her graphic ink drawings have been her signature for years, but she also sketches, paints and creates collages. All disciplines present simple proportions and material combinations that are contemporary and distinctive.

I am so inspired by these images showcasing the stunning new collection. Styled by one of Denmark’s most renowned Interior Stylist’s, Pernille Vest, they were shot in the beautiful Skagerak showroom in Copenhagen. What a wonderful collaboration! It makes it hard to choose a favourite print, don’t you think?
