Inspired by the bright Nordic light, Nordiska Kök has created an updated look for the classic shaker kitchen with a minimal framework, neutral colour scheme, smart functions and beautiful details. Effortlessly fusing classic elements with a contemporary Scandinavian aesthetic, The Nordic Light kitchen created for a home in Malmö, Sweden, is a timeless space designed to last many generations.
The Landala table is designed by Emma Olbers and the Pinnstol chairs are by Norrgavel. The bespoke display cabinet, site-built to match the wall cabinets, gives the feeling of a classic serving cabinet. Featuring a white pigmented oak interior that adds a warm and textural contrast to the exterior paint colour, it also while integrates seamlessly with the rest of the kitchen.
The walls, fan and shelf have been painted in the same soft hue, creating a calming tonal effect. The discreet open shelf enhances the kitchen’s light and airy feel, providing a place to display beautiful ceramics, and the Jura limestone benchtop injects further warmth and interest.
