Dial up the lustre levels using Resene paints with a bit more bounce back, for spaces with commanding presence.

Low sheen and satin formats might be the most popular choice for New Zealanders when they’re transforming a room with paint, but higher gloss levels and saturated colours provide an extra sense of energy and excitement. It’s a technique emerging across European interiors and one that readily translates to our sharp, clear light. Here, we’ve turned on the gloss factor in a living/dining zone that embraces reflection through the use of Resene Enamacryl, a waterborne enamel which gets its chance to shine (quite literally).

Daringly bright Resene Deep Sea drenches the walls in teal-green lusciousness, and whets the appetite for animated conversation. Then, instead of the customary shades-of-white ceiling, Resene Sepia, a burnt brown, gives more intimacy. Skirtings painted the same colour bookend the experience to lend sophisticated definition. Finally, underfoot, Resene Rodeo Drive acts as a calm counter to the walls, maintaining a sense of lightness. The overall result is a gloss-confident, colour-dashing space that stops you in your tracks.
