–  This offbeat scheme hooks up yellow, green and cream Resene Springtime on the walls with a nook in sandy-beige Resene Awaroa Bay and floor in grey-beige Resene Stepping Stone to form a surprisingly harmonious match that’s both fresh and grounding. The combination is unexpected, but keeping the tones in similarly light strengths ties them together.
–  Onto the backdrop, we’ve layered warm neutrals and deep browns, and included polished finishes for their crisp modernity. Keeping your bedroom styling pretty clean and minimal is another key to ensuring the space feels serene.
–  We love the elegant simplicity of a bedspread and delight in knowing what lies beneath is special too. Turn the page to see our silk pillowslips and zingy sheet that make every part of getting into bed a beautiful and tactile experience.
–  Sourcing secondhand pieces to paint is about seeing potential and looking for great shapes. We found this lamp on Trade Me. It was teal green, but we’ve turned it into something reminiscent of Italian postmodernism with Resene Fluffy Duck and Resene Dark Chocolate, a glossy Resene Lustacryl finish and a pinstripe pattern we achieved by masking with painter’s tape before painting each stripe individually.
