Patiki Townhouse: A Historic Mediterranean Architecture

For some reason I have always admired Mediterranean houses, I love the architectural style and form of the buildings that are timeless. This Patiki townhouse located in Mallorca is one of my favorite. First built by a Parisian architect in 1986, an architectural gem immaculately restored and modernized without compromising on luxury by Berrow Projects. The mission in reforming historic homes is to create homes with year-round living experiences, while ensuring the legacy not only lives on but enhances its luxurious style.

Outdoor Landscape

This beautiful building features an oasis-like garden with a state-of-the-art swimming pool, private dining area and plenty of sunrooms. There is a spacious roof terrace on the upper level which adds a new dimension to this townhouse. Swimming pool is the centerpiece of the garden landscape consisting of 6 tiles, but produces a minimalist elegance that envelops the garden with serenity. Heated through an environmentally friendly solar integrated pellet boiler system, it can be set to the desired temperature. An engineering feat built for year-round enjoyment.

Awesome architecture

This townhouse was first designed by a Parisian architect in the late 19th century. That’s why this property has a unique architectural style that exudes French charm with an air of grandeur and luxury rarely seen anywhere else on the island.

Townhouse history

Beginning when scientists discovered the health benefits of vitamin C in the late 18th century, Sóller’s citrus trade flourished and the city saw a huge influx of wealth. It was during this glorious period that in 1896 this townhouse was built. Parisian architects were hired and materials such as stained glass and wood were imported from all over the world.

The result is still visible today, a property with an air of grandeur and impeccable detail rarely seen anywhere else on the island. The property is kept in the same family that built it and tirelessly cared for it for 120 years until its final reforms.

Details and conclusion

The townhouse has been extensively reformed to have all of the historic sections painstakingly restored to their original glory, while still adding modern comfort and luxury throughout.
