While exploring different forms, opacities and luminosities, these nine fibreglass lights share a common material origin. Fibreglass, a type of reinforced plastic woven from fine glass fibres, is favoured by lighting designers as a lightweight yet durable material that can be easily manipulated. When illuminated from within, the material becomes translucent, emitting a soft glow and revealing its unique, fibrous texture.

01. Kundalini E.T.A SAT Pendant Lamp
Designed by Guglielmo Berchicci for Kundalini, the E.T.A SAT pendant lamp features a fibreglass exterior and a metallic interior, lending to its delicate yet robust shape.
02. Tacchini Equinox
Designed by Studiopepe for Tacchini, the Equinox is a whimsical pendant lamp that filters soft light through an enveloping fibreglass shell.
03. Flos Taraxacum
The Taraxacum pendant designed by Achille Castiglioni for Flos is an icon of modern Italian design, made by spraying hot fibreglass over a wire frame to create a sheer, cocoon-like structure.
04. Blue Green Works Fiber Sconce
The Blue Green Works Fiber sconce is made up of a series of raw fibreglass discs, illuminated by open blown-glass orbs.
05. Tacchini Solstice
Designed by Studiopepe for Tacchini, the Solstice wall sconce is a far denser and more lustrous fibreglass light than the Equinox, demonstrating the flexible nature of the material.
06. Kundalini Chakra Wall Lamp
The Chakra wall sconce designed by Gregorio Spini for Kundalini is intended to bring a sense of spirituality to a space with its circular, opaline glass design.
07. Matter Made Puffball Table Lamp
Inspired by wild mushrooms, the Puffball table lamp designed by Faye Toogood for Matter Made features a rounded fibreglass cap that casts warm light into a space.
08. Baxter Nuvola Floor Lamp
Draga & Aurel designed the Nuvola floor lamp for Baxter to evoke a sense of lightheartedness and a feeling of ‘floating in the clouds’, with the selected material, fibreglass, symbolising this dream-like state.
09. Tacchini A.D.A Table Lamp
The A.D.A table lamp designed by Umberto Riva for Tacchini is manufactured from tinted fibreglass which, when illuminated, undergoes a subtle shift in colour.
