It’s really complicated to follow the path of trends without getting lost nowadays, but one of the advantages of their constant flow is enjoy that precise moment when styles from different decades coexist. Even mixing them might seem difficult, we all do it almost everyday, and it’s the only way our looks achieve a contemporary air instead of seem literally brought in from the past.
During our days in the Amalfi coast I had the chance to put this theory in practice with one of my favorite iconic pieces from the 90s: the floral slip dress. With an easy silhouette and the thinest of the straps, it has this romantic and rebel flair that Winona Ryder interpreted perfectly well in “Reality Bites”. Those years demanded a pair of military boots, but in our days it is better worn with sandals in a natural shade.
¿The best part? The colors of the dress definitely matched the hues of the landscape. I give you shopping ideas at the end of the post. Hope you like it!

Una de las ventajas del ritmo vertiginoso al que cambian las tendencias es aprovechar ese momento en el que estilos de distintas décadas conviven. Aunque combinarlos en principio puede parecer complicado todas lo hacemos casi a diario, y es la única manera de que los looks tengan un aire contemporáneo en lugar de parecer rescatados directamente del pasado.
En los días que pasamos en la costa Amalfitana puse esta teoría en práctica con uno de mis iconos preferidos de los 90: el slip dress con estampado de flores. De silueta recta y con tirantes finísimos, tiene ese aire entre romántico y rebelde que tan bien interpretó Winona Ryder en “Reality Bites”. Los 90 le pedían unas botas de cordones de inspiración militar pero en estos días el giro ganador se lo aportan unas sandalias en rafia natural.
¿La mejor parte? Que los tonos del vestido encajaban a la perfección con los del paisaje. Al final del post os dejo propuestas de vestidos. Espero que os guste!
