We are inspired by the elegant calligraphy of Cairo-based artist, Mounir Al Shaarani. His work is steeped in tradition but has managed to bring the ancient art of Arabic lettering into a modern context. The calligrapher, graphic designer and writer graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts in Damascus. He has worked as a calligrapher and book designer since 1968 and has exhibited internationally. He uses his calligraphic art to inspire the people of Syria, who face daily turmoil in their war-torn country.
