Moooi, the Dutch interior and lifestyle design brand founded by Marcel Wanders always has one the most spectacular exhibitions during Milan Design week. Visiting Moooi in Milan is an experience. Surrounded by beautiful furniture, carpets and lighting you really enter the world of Moooi. And as soon you step through the black curtains all your senses are stimulated by sound, smell. colours and patterns.
A life Extraordinary
What really caught my eye this year were the Moooi Wallcoverings, beautiful original and unexpected designs that felt luxurious and fairytale like.
Most often the widest width of wallpaper is 52cm or 75cm . With their 90-130cm, Moooi Wallcoverings are wider than a normal roll of paper and you determine the length of the roll yourself by ordering per linear meter. A wallpaper table is not necessary, you only need to smear the wall and simply stick the wallpaper against it. And like with many Coloredwalls wallpapers, if after a while you are ready for a new decoration on the wall, the wallpaper is also easy to remove.
Memento Moooi Medley
The Memento Moooi Medley Wallcovering collection is inspired by Extinct Animals remembered for their unique kindness and love for life. Animals that cherished every moment of their lives and lived to make beautiful memories. This is definitely not an ordinary Animal wallpaper
Each wallcovering is inspired by the characteristics of one animal. Striking combinations of colours, features, and patterns of their fur, plumage or skin bring it vividly back to life on our walls. Some designs narrate a story; others stimulate our senses using imagery and textures.
Golden Tiger Wallcovering
I loved this small corner covered in Golden Tiger Wallcovering, such a dreamy space together with the Serpetin light. The Golden Tiger Wallcovering is made from laser cut wood veneer with gold foil. Golden Tigers couldn’t bear to be parted from their loved ones, so the wallcovering depicts this friendly Extinct Animal surrounded by his animal friends. Gold wallpaper at its best!
Mimic Moth
The Mimic Moth Wallcovering is a 3D wallcovering with a soft suede look, inspired by the Mimic Moth’s shape and habitat. The wallcoverings design comprises embossed Mimic Moths surrounded by its favourite flowers.
Not only the walls were all covered with Moooi wallcovering, also large panels were to admire showing a close up of the 3D wallcoverings. I hope you loved getting a sneak peek of the exhibition and the fantasy animals of the Moooi wallcoverings.
