Australian studio FGR Architects have successfully completed distinctive townhouses as an alternative for those looking to leave their extended family’s home and garden behind. Located on the corner of Orrong and Lambert streets, on the ground floor there is ample parking space, a guest bedroom and shared bathroom with an open living area, perfect as a children’s play area or as an office center.

Each part of the house is connected to a private courtyard garden, giving a wide view to the outdoors thanks to the large glass wall. On the middle floor there is an open kitchen, dining area and living room, while a spacious terrace with sliding doors is ready to bring a feel of the outdoors to all residents.

These townhouses have a sleek and contemporary design, the emphasis is on materials that are warm and tactile. Stained oak floors and stone benches complete the open fireplace in the living room. Although the entire project consists of glass walls, the biggest challenge is getting natural light evenly across. To get around this the architects added a glazed curtain wall, with smooth steel framed windows included. Get inspired!
