Kohanaiki Beach House was completed in 2023, by LA-based multidisciplinary architect Malek Alqadi. This beach house is focused on nature and sustainability. From the beginning of the planning, the architects were committed to creating a space that was both functional and beautiful.
The architectural design is heavily inspired by coastal waters and classic Hawaiian elements. Each space is designed to blend with the outdoors, providing a holistic sanctuary for a family of four.
This is one of the family-friendly beach house projects, and is suitable for anyone who wants to feel close to nature.
Using local materials
Almost all parts of the beach house building use local materials available in the environment and the community around the site. Using local volcanic wood and stone, creating designs that are anchored to the earth while preserving its natural beauty.
Indoor and outdoor spaces
The design philosophy of the beach house is centered on the idea of seamlessly blending man-made structures with the natural environment. Several areas of the building such as sliding glass walls, expansive decks, beautiful ocean views, and private courtyards create an intimate connection with the outdoors.
Spaces that have appeal
The ideal space should have both visual appeal and comfort. Like this beach house adapts new and old structures and materials, turning them into spaces that serve the client’s needs as well as aesthetic appeal, durability and functionality.
