Born in Barcelona Jamie Pitarch attended the Chelsea College of Art for painting and received his MFA in painting from the Royal College of Art in London, UK. He creates sculptures, drawings, videos and installations often using humble everyday objects such as a guitar, chair, or household and consumer products. The Barcelona-based artist explores our relationship to household objects by making subtle and not-so-subtle alterations rendering them completely useless. He describes his work as mainly having “… to do with the human being’s inability to identify with the structures he himself has created.”
He is represented in New York by Spencer Brownstone Gallery.
