We’ve handpicked nine pieces from Australian lighting design studio Articolo’s collection that capture their cultivated vision and appreciation for artisanal craftsmanship.
Articolo founding director Nicci Green has established a global reputation for pushing the boundaries of architectural lighting and traditional craftsmanship in the decade since first opening her lighting design studio. Each piece designed by Articolo reflects Nicci’s inspired approach and collaboration with talented craftspeople; revealing the exploration of materiality at the hands of Murano glassblowers, metalworkers and Italian jewellers.
Articolo’s lighting is a firm favourite among the Australian design community but has also caught the eye of leading designers further abroad. Their Slim pendant was recently featured in a London Penthouse by Banda, who resonated with the lighting studio’s focus on the quality and provenance of materials and craft.
Nicci Green’s influence is embodied in Articolo’s showrooms designed by multi-disciplinary practice Studio Goss. First welcoming designers to their showroom in Richmond, Melbourne, Articolo has since opened its doors in New York City. Both spaces are minimalist projections of the studio’s streamlined lighting designs.
In this insider’s guide, we’ve followed Articolo’s mantra, “the art of light,” to showcase nine standouts from their collection.
