This simple Scandinavian apartment is full of warmth. While it’s minimally decorated, it’s the use of soft beige and grey tones that adds a lot of cosiness to this home. And they’ve gone for the tone on tone look which again helps create a calm and cohesive space. Decorating a room in different tones of the same colour is an effortless way to bring a room together and this apartment is a fab example.
There is so much to love about this warm, minimalist living room. Firstly the beige on beige tones contrasted with the black accents is a colour palette that you can’t go wrong with. This beige living room has all the key elements of Scandi interiors like feature lighting, lots of textures, wooden tones and plants. It’s all the different textures that add depth and interest to this neutral colour scheme. You’ve got the heavily textured rug, metal chairs, wooden floor, marble table stand, linen sofa and so much more.
Speaking of the linen sofa, I recognised it immediately because it’s my . It’s been upgraded with here to give it a beautiful, relaxed look. Thats the beauty of this IKEA sofa – you can so easily change it up with different sofa covers to give it a whole new look while still embracing it’s minimalist shape and form. The beige covers here make the sofa blend in with the wall, which is part of the tone on tone look of this living space. The black metal chairs provide a contrast not only in colour but in terms of materials – hard metal contrasts with soft linen.
The bedroom continues with the tone on tone look but this time with a grey-beige colour. The wardrobes have been painted in the same colour as the walls which gives a seamless look and makes a small space feel bigger. Much like the living room, the bedroom is simply decorated with style. The large plant on the nightstand really pops against the walls. I also love the aged planter on the window sill. And as you always find in Scandi homes, theres texture, feature lighting, greenery and lots of natural materials in this room too.
The addition of a hanging clothes rail is practical and adds a nice design feature too. It’s a great way to use some of your favourite clothes as decor. This kind of clothes rail is easy and very budget friendly to DIY. If you want to make one, here’s a tutorial.
