Milan may traditionally be a city of espresso, but this spring, another beverage kept coming to mind as we made our way throughout the city’s showrooms and across the halls of Salone del Mobile: Gatorade. Vivid hues reminiscent of citrus- and grape-flavoured sports drinks were the breakout design colour trend of 2026, quenching our thirst for something brighter than last year’s onslaught of beige and brown tones. Below, we round up 11 recent electrolyte-enhanced (in spirit, at least) introductions helping the industry refuel.

Threshold

Leveraging Dooor’s glossy partitions, Objects of Common Interest invited overstimulated Alcova visitors to catch their breath inside a calm refuge.

2
Nagori

A modern bed with an orange upholstered frame and headboard, wooden legs, a white mattress, and two white pillows, set against a plain white background.

Vitamin C is known to boost sleep quality. Enter Simone Bonanni’s bed for Zanotta in a freshly squeezed colourway, with a frame in solid wood.

3
Yve’s

A modern lounge chair with a purple seat and backrest, orange cushions, and a metal frame painted in shades of pink and red, set against a white background.

A two-toned shell establishes a dynamic, Yves Klein–approved palette that continues across the cushions of Piero Lissoni’s Kartell lounger.

4
Drama Twin

Two upholstered armchairs, one yellow and one brown, both covered with pleated mesh fabric skirts, against a white background.

Júlia Esqué designed Sancal’s armchair as if it were “dressing up for a special occasion.” A version sans skirt (Formal Twin) is also available.

5
Ardys

Patricia Urquiola’s latest Cassina sofa pairs soft, duvet-like cushioning with hard lacquered concrete side table modules featuring a ceramic finish.

From above, Zanellato/Bortotto’s sofa system for Moroso resembles lemon wedges. From behind, each module is backed by a small ceramic button.

7
Scoop

A modern, purple upholstered lounge chair with wide armrests and an extended leg rest, set against a white background.

I scream, you scream, we all scream for an armchair modelled after the curved imprint left behind by an ice cream scoop. Luckily, Philippe Malouin and Meritalia are here to deliver.

8
Pluri

Two yellow shelving units stand side by side against a light wall, each containing a few rectangular, colored blocks placed in separate compartments.

Spotted in the group exhibition “Convey,” Roman studio Næssi’s solid wood shelving modules for Bosnian brand Woak can be configured horizontally or vertically, open or closed, in a full range of colours that includes this zesty yellow.

9
Apsis

Konstantin Grcic’s well-proportioned solid wood bistro chair for Mattiazzi takes its name (and its horseshoe-shaped backrest) from the domed semi-circular apse stationed at the end of historic churches.

10
Akur

A modern, olive green side table with a rounded triangular glass top and a solid base divided into three curved sections.

Named for the Icelandic word for “field,” Hlynur Atlason’s first range for Glas Italia was inspired by aerial views of farmland observed through an airplane window.

11
Knot

A modern, upholstered, mauve-colored accent chair with a rounded back and soft fabric surface, positioned on a white background.

The eight-piece inaugural collection from Italy’s Extra Ordinario (all by Yabu Pushelberg) included this suede chair with a fashionably cinched backrest. In keeping with 2026 colour trends, it was shown in a grape flavour.
