Fashion Friday: Making the Perfect Shirtdress, McCall’s M6885

I’ve been having strong feelings towards shirtdresses lately. STRONG. Expect to see more of it on the blog, but I promise to mingle the looks with other garment. Note: SHIRTDRESSES are life.

Enter: McCall’s M6885.

It’s a great little number and it’s darn near perfect. It’s currently available! No ebay pattern hunting for you my friends, you can find it here. I whipped it up with a soft rayon from Vogue Fabric (discounted – sorry no direct links) and voila, my next summer dress and future fall layered look! The buttons are from Hobby Lobby. Confession: I planned for a more summery look with this post, but Seattle hasn’t received the memo. Luckily, combining it the jeans was divine! I also decided to ditch the 2 piece color and choose a band collar look.

The dress is inspired from a Dolce & Gabbana found HERE.

Isn’t it the best? I also loved the red detail of the pant and used it on my buttonhole details and red heart buttons. D&G have a way with going over the top and that’s one of my favorite fashion words. so when you find buttons that read: Red Glitzy Gem Heart buttons – you buy them. Needless to say, I went with the red buttons and NEVER LOOKED BACK.

I lived happily ever after since!
