Remember the days before pinterest?
The days when we would tear things out of magazines, maybe print some things off, buy images that we liked? Remember those old-fashioned times of 7 short years ago?
I love pinterest. It’s my favourite social channel out there. I’m obsessed with pinning but do you know what? Sometimes I want inspiration staring me in the eye. I don’t want to scroll or even look at a screen, I just want to see inspiration in front of me. And for those times, nothing beats a good old inspiration board.
I made this inspiration board recently and it’s super quick and easy to make. Ever since I’ve made it, I keep it right in front of me while I’m working and I love glancing up at it.
DIY Inspiration board
Materials:
plywood sheet in whatever size you like (I used 30cm x 60cm and 3mm thick)*
7m faux suede cord
paint

This DIY inspiration board couldn’t be easier to make, as you can probably see. Paint your plywood board in the colour of your choice. Then wrap your suede cord very, very tightly around the plywood, in a random manner. Tie very tightly at the back. Trim any excess and you’re done! I went for faux suede as it has a bit of a stretch in it, which is why it holds the stuff in place. Also the suede looks much nicer than elastic.
Make one for yourself, make one for the kids and once it’s done, fill it with lots of inspiration and look at it everyday. This DIY inspiration board is also great to use as a mood board if you’re planning to re-do a room in your home.
