Built in 1929, the historic eight-storey corner building was one of the last

Curved timber headboards, brass-covered lamps and one-off art pieces cultivate a slightly ‘old-fashioned’ charm reminiscent of the twenties and thirties. A Japanese velvet painting in a cork frame completes the refined suite.

Colours reminiscent of the 1920s feature throughout the 106 suites; a spectrum of muted green, bronze, tobacco, mocha and ochre.

A Homage to the 1920s
Festen introduced the archetypal colours of the 1920s throughout the 106 suites; a spectrum of muted green, bronze, tobacco, mocha and ochre. Curved timber headboards and brass-covered lamps cultivate a slightly ‘old-fashioned’ charm reminiscent of the era, together with exposed vintage plumbing and glossy black subway tiles in the ensuites. Downstairs in the restaurant, Festen acquired the original blueprints from the 1920s and custom-designed the furniture and joinery to mirror these documents.

The mini bars are replenished with well-known whiskey and gin alongside locally-made cocktails from the neighbourhood.

Instead of travel-sized amenities, the bathrooms feature Orso’s own Colomba range in full-sized bottles available for purchase.

The existing floor was sanded to reveal the original blue and gold mosaic from the 1920s.

The monumental eight-story corner building evocates the Jazz Age right from its theatrical facade. “Hôtel Rochechouart has the spirit of the great Parisian hotels of the 20s and 30s, without feeling too exclusive,” Festen’s Hugo Sauzay and Charlotte de Tonnac reflect.

Festen channelled elements of a quintessential Parisian terrace in the rooftop bar, specifying wrought iron furniture with piped upholstery and a striped canopy.
