Mushrooms, flowers, and fish are just some of the things you’ll find on Aynsley of Knotted Neon’s head. She creates crocheted balaclavas topped with a bevy of tiny elements that transform the coverings into miniature environments.
Every balaclava tells a story. The mushroom piece, for instance, is like a walk in the woods. Among the lush green forest floor are fungi dotted with flowers and even a little bunny about to nibble some greens. The scene stretches over Aynsley’s head and changes depending on how you view it, essentially changing little bits of the tale.
