I first shared a basic blocking tutorial back in 2014, but ever since I started the Hands Occupied YouTube Channel this fall, my most-requested video tutorial is how to block knitting. This video was designed for a square one blocking beginner, and it features a slightly slower pace, repetition, + titles rather than a voiceover narration. Since blocking keeps coming up as a topic you’d like to know more about, I’ve got another one on the way for you that goes a little more in depth and specifically features a sweater, another popular question topic. Basic Wet Blocking Supplies:

fiber wash
knitting project or swatch in need of blocking
clean basin or sink
tepid (room temperature) water
clean, dry towel
rust proof pins
blocking mats (or a second towel)
