This kitchen is a complete showstopper! Designed by Danish company Københavns Møbelsnedkeri, the space is at once modern yet timeless.
Københavns Møbelsnedkeri create high-quality bespoke solutions for the home. They mainly design kitchens, bathrooms and storage with a focus on natural materials and a sense of quiet luxury. Here’s how they describe their projects: “Guided by material integrity, proportion, and sensory detail, we work primarily in locally sourced hardwoods and natural materials like leather and metal, creating pieces that feel both refined and grounded.”
The contrast of the cool marble and stainless steel paired with warm wooden floors creates so much interest and drama in this kitchen. The jewel in the crown is the sculptural chandelier which completes the space and adds the wow factor.
The first thing that stands out is the over-sized marble island which makes a huge statement. The marble features bold grey veining adding to the wow factor. The island has room for stools on one side meaning it doubles up as a place to eat as well as to prep food.
The large marble island is flanked by wall-to-wall stainless steel cabinets on one side and hidden wall to floor cabinets on the other. Brushed steel cabinets may not be the obvious pairing with marble but it works so well here. The combination creates a real statement but the look is still minimal with everything working together in harmony. The storage cabinets on the other side are designed to blend in to the walls and provide plenty of hidden storage.
Equally striking are all the period details like the herringbone parquet floors, the curved french doors, the ceiling moulding and the ceiling rose. The contrast of these period details against the contemporary kitchen furniture is what makes this kitchen so special.
The walls are pure white and there is plenty of natural light which makes this kitchen feel light, bright and even more spacious than it already is.
