The modern loft kitchen in this beautiful, majestic turn-of-the-century apartment in Sweden separates the bedroom and the living room from each other. The old doorway that used to separate both rooms has been removed to create an open-space floor plan that is much alike modern lofts, yet with so much ornate historic detailing in the architecture.
A loft kitchen functions as a room divider
The walls of the majestic living space have all been painted white, which draws attention to how high the ceilings are and how spacious this space really is. The modern dark grey loft kitchen stands out so nicely against the backdrop of the white walls, resulting in a contrast in color and in the time period for an impressive effect.
The loft kitchen consists of a main block behind which the bedroom is located and a kitchen island in the middle that has been fitted in between the impressive historic doorway. Two large modules on each side hold bigger appliances, while the middle part of the kitchen is fitted with indented upper cabinets with a beautiful LED strip underneath it that enhances the modern effect of the loft kitchen in the space.
The matt dark grey material has been used on the kitchen cabinets, sides, and worktop for an elegant and minimal effect.
A spacious living and dining room with a natural color palette
The interior of the living space has been decorated with classics in a natural color palette and a few black pieces for contrast against the white walls.
The large dining table in front of the bay windows works perfectly in harmony with the black wishbone chairs and the round mirror on the wall reflects the spacious room and makes it appear even bigger.
An old doorway has been transformed into a bookshelf including a spot for the TV, which is such an elegant solution for hiding away electronics when they are not in use.
A bedroom hidden behind the loft kitchen
Behind the loft kitchen, you can find a minimally decorated bedroom. The backside of the kitchen is used for storage on the bedroom side as well, making it such a versatile module.
A built-in wardrobe has been hidden behind glass sliding doors, which has quite a modern effect in the space.
