This beautiful open-plan apartment in Sweden (Styled by Studio Rydman, photographed by Frederic Boukari for Historiska Hem) has a modern grey kitchen planned out in a corner layout. The kitchen is separated from the kid’s bedroom with a non-bearing wall with a window. This way, the daylight can flow into the kitchen space as well.
The kitchen is connected to a dining area and through glass doors, you can walk through the living room into the bedroom. All rooms are connected in one open-plan layout, yet since they all have different wall treatments, they look distinctly unique.
The living room has a blue wall color, while the bedroom is covered in a bold black and white striped wallpaper. Through the glass doors, you can look from one room into the other and the different color palettes can complement each other.

The kitchen is planned out in front of the non-bearing wall a window that looks out onto the kid’s room. The corner kitchen layout allows for efficient use of the space and upper cabinets on one side only keep the layout light and airy.
The light grey kitchen cabinets have flat panels for a clean and minimal look. The brass hardware adds a beautiful metallic touch to the setting, along with the stainless steel surfaces around the stove and hood.
The black metal frame mirror above the kitchen sink allows daylight to flow into the kitchen space. The black faucet nicely complements the black window.
On the opposite side of the window, you can find a small section with upper glass cabinets and a small countertop.
This small kitchen section is perfect for a water carbonator and for holding cups and glasses. Alternatively, this could make a great coffee station as well.

A spacious dining area includes a large oak dining table paired with black bentwood chairs. The area rug underneath the table visually separates this section from the rest of the open floor plan.

Behind the non-bearing wall behind the kitchen, you can find a small newly created room that is perfect for a nursery or home office.
A living room with light blue walls
The living room doesn’t get any direct light and lies in between the bedroom and the kitchen. By painting the living room walls in a light blue wall color, this space looks light and vibrant.
The beige sofa stands out against the cool wall color and is paired with a few warm-tone accessories and prints. This play between warm and cool tones adds a unique effect to the space.
Another glass door connects the living room to the bedroom space.
A bedroom with black and white striped wallpaper
The bedroom wallpaper makes a bold statement in the space. The tick black and white striped pattern adds a graphic effect to the room, from which the neutral furniture pieces stand out.
A classic gold mirror stands out with its metallic finish and adds a classic touch to the space.
Right next to the bedroom wardrobe, you can find a small home office spot decorated with a few art prints.
