77 Washington is a group of five buildings located near the Brooklyn Navy Yards. The redesigned Worrell Yeung includes a historic six-story stone mill building built in the 1920s. In addition to the redesign, Worrell Yeung is also rehabilitating the property to support new office, retail and multi-purpose artist studio space.

The design is based on contrast with the found conditions of existing buildings and a number of strategic interventions that support new uses and programs. The entire apartment is open, exposing brick walls, cast iron columns and wooden beams, creating an industrial interior style that fits well with urban design.

Each intervention is understood as a distinct and distinct element, juxtaposed with the existing structure. Architects removed unnecessary and structurally unsound parts of the building to create new gardens and access to daylight to provide stunning city views. This is an industrial-style apartment design with an urban garden, the whole building is integrated and in harmony with their respective functions. 77 washington has been awarded the 2020 NY Design Honors Award.
