Sage green is a perfect color for a kitchen, as it’s a color variation that is more exciting and interesting as a grey or white paint color, yet it’s not as daring and you can still achieve a calm, classy and serene look in your kitchen. I personally love sage green as a paint color choice and you can go light or slightly darker with the color palette according to your preference.

Below, I selected and listed my top picks of inspiring kitchens with sage green kitchen cabinets and I even added some tips down below for those of you who are looking to give your current kitchen a new sage green paint color.

Sage green cabinets combined with grey limestone

This beautiful shaker kitchen combines light sage green cabinets with a warm grey wall color and a grey limestone countertop. The gold faucet, towel rail, and cabinet pulls add a lovely texture to this muted palette.

A sage green kitchen with shiplap and limewash walls

I think this is my favorite sage green kitchen in the list, as I really like the combination of the classic shaker kitchen combined with the shiplap wall and the limewash paint on the opposite wall, all in a green color palette. These different textures complement each other so nicely.

I love the look of the green kitchen cabinet combined with the shiplap backsplash and the black pendant lights. on the other side of the kitchen. I think the cabinet paint colors match perfectly with the different green wall colors and the white quartz countertops work wonderfully with the sage green cabinets.

A classy shaker kitchen in a deep sage green

This gorgeous shaker kitchen has deep sage green kitchen cabinets that combine wonderfully with the wood tones in the white-soaped flooring and the bentwood dining chairs. The white marble countertop contrast so nicely with the sage green and the grey wall color and I love that the countertop continues in a backsplash behind the stove and sink.

Upper cabinets are only used to integrate the exhaust and in the area above the sink which lightens up the otherwise moody sage color palette.

Pastel sage green cabinets in a contrasting kitchen

The color of the cabinets in this kitchen is a very light shade of sage green, almost like a pastel. The kitchen design consists of mostly lower cabinets for a light look which pairs up nicely with the white tiles on the wall.

The sage green cabinets and the white tiles contrast nicely with the black metal window frames and the black accent wall by the dining area.

Sage green kitchen cabinets with wood countertops

While sage green in the kitchen can look very fresh and clean, in this kitchen the wooden countertops really warm up the color palette. Part of the upper cabinets consists of open shelving made out of the same material as the countertops, which is a nice touch that comes back on the back of the kitchen island as well.

The white tiles with the black grout add a little bit of a graphic touch while the salmon flowerpot lampshade adds some character to the pale paint color.

Sage green cabinets combined with a beige wall and black accents

The sage green paint color on these beautiful shaker kitchen cabinets is warmed up with the wood countertops and the beige walls. The black lamps above the sink have subtle brass detail that also comes back in the faucet.

The layout of this kitchen consists of both upper and lower cabinets to create ample storage space and when doing the kitchen remodel, the owners used the kitchen cabinets to create a separator from the hallway section of the apartment.

A minimal kitchen design in sage green

The design of the kitchen cabinets is very clean and minimal, yet the sage green paint color on the cabinets makes this space shine. The sage green is combined with a light wood countertop and white tiles with black grout on the wall. The stainless steel cabinet pulls add an elegant and clean touch to the cabinets and I like the peg rail that has been added on top of the tiles.

A minimal shaker kitchen in sage green with two-tone walls

I love the balance of the color palette in this kitchen. The subtle sage green kitchen cabinets combined with the grey quartz countertop and backsplash and the beige walls result in a soft color palette that looks elegant and inviting.

The two-tone palette brought on by the wall color and the kitchen backsplash has been continued on the other wall and open shelving in the same material as the countertops is added on the upper part of the kitchen.

The kitchen cabinets continue into a lower bench in the dining area with the same paint color on both the cabinets and the wall, which is a nice way of integrating the dining area into the kitchen design.

The moody sage color on these beautiful kitchen cabinets has been paired up with soft oak tones in the finishes of the ladder and the open shelving on the wall to soften out the look. The walls of the kitchen are exposed brick covered in limewash paint which adds an interesting texture to the sage green kitchen.

I think the subtle yet fresh sage green paint color on the kitchen looks fresh and modern yet the design of the kitchen itself is quite classic and timeless. The white wall, white-soaped hardwood flooring, and white tile backsplash enhance the palette brought on by the sage green kitchen, yet the black dining table, chairs, and wall lamps add a lovely contrast to the space that makes it unique and characterful.

Sage green cabinet paint colors to give a try

Don’t have the opportunity to remodel your kitchen yet you still want to have a sage green kitchen? You can always use a paint color on your existing cabinets and give them a little makeover.

To achieve a lighter sage green look on your kitchen cabinets like in some of the examples, go for a muted green like Mizzle from Farrow and Ball* or Guilford Green* by Benjamin Moore. If you are looking for a bold, dark effect, go for a darker green paint color like Pewter green from Sherwin Williams, which pairs up nicely with warm woods and metals.

To find the true green that matches your kitchen space, always work with a sample of the paint color to see how the color pairs up with the natural lights and existing materials in the space.
