I love finding free toy sewing patterns for kids! There is something extra special about a child snuggling something that you’ve made them, and it is even more fun when they’re old enough to help you pick out fabrics and details just to their liking. Handmade toys and stuffies are always my favorite thing to sew, I focused on toys in this post but you can see two posts of free stuffie patterns that match up with beloved kids books in this post and a second post.
As I start brainstorming for Christmas gifts to sew for kids, I thought I’d share some of the free patterns I’ve found. There are ideas for babies up through preschoolers, with lots of open ended play inspiration. Please let me know if you try any of them!
If you need even more ideas, check out this post of different patterns to sew for truck loving kids, or craft options in this handmade toys to make for kids post.
