Webbing shutters in a West Village Townhouse

A few years ago I asked myself if brass shutters could be the next big thing, have a peek here. As many design ideas I like, the construction of these brass shutters is still on my mind and by now I even think I could add these to my own home by making the existing deep window sills even deeper with a wooden frame, an idea I saw in a remodel episode on TV.

With most home changes and designs I believe ideas come from things we pick up online, seeing images, reading magazines and looking at other home makeovers. All mixed together, observing and using our own imagination, beautiful plans are born which are unique for our own space. Now actual realizing these idea is another thing of course.

Now if you are not a fan of metal works but do love this shutter idea here’s another idea I found in the portfolio of Architect & CGI Artist Klaudia Adamiak, she is so talented and I love her style and showed her work a few times on the blog! These visualizations are from The West Village Townhouse in New York, a project designed by Noa Santos for the Hudson Advisory Team.

Webbing Shutters for your home

What I really found interesting in these images and immediately reminded me of the brass shutter idea, are the webbing shutters you will certainly see the similarity between the two. Unless you are really handy, the brass shutters can be made with the help of a blacksmith. These shutters that appear to be made of wood with a webbing screen are perhaps easier to even make yourself. They give a natural look to your room and the webbing comes in different finishes. It really looks like a beautiful alternative window covering. More images from the West Village Townhouse here!
