THE JAPANESE GARDEN // IKEA OUTDOOR

Anyone else that has started thinking about the terrace or garden this summer? Or in my case, the small city balcony. With the nice weather lately it is tempting to start buying plants and move outside. A bit early for the plants, spring is quite unpredictable in Norway – but planning and preparing can be done. I am super inspired by these photos done by Anna Lenskog Belfrage og Kristofer Jonsson for Livet Hemma/Ikea Sweden – it might be possible to make a small scale Japanese garden too. Wooden panels divides the garden in different zones and creates calm lines (horizontal lines does magic to the interior too if you want a room to look calm). No flowers, only green plants that is easy to maintain during summer – perfect when you want to spend time enjoying your outdoor space instead of trying to make the flowers survive. The Japanese garden philosophy is all about recreation and peaceful living, something I would love to apply to my balcony as well.
