I’m very happy to bring you news from Copenhagen-based Studio Theresa Arns today. Specialising in furniture and interior design related projects, the focus of the studio’s work is on the use of natural, authentic materials and lasting materials. You will no doubt be familiar with their range of products from Menu including the Turning Table and recently released Echasse Vasse. Creating functional yet poetic furniture with a story to tell, the studio welcomes three new pieces that have a simple but sensual expression, with beautiful attention to detail.

The first product is the Nova Bench which combines modern black steel with the contrasting sophistication of velvet. The simple steel construction forms the base for a black stained wooden plate and velvet cushion, while the two bent metal arcs reference classic Art Deco forms. Beautifully elegant, this piece would have to be my favourite.

The Dusk Bedside Table features a simple yet sleek steel thread construction, beautiful oak wood drawers (in light oak or black stained finishes) and brass detailing. Fusing classic form with a modern expression, this elegant piece of furniture provides a timeless, yet functional bedside storage solution.

Wonderfully versatile, the Oda Storage System offers flexibility with the option to mix and match the open shelves, drawer and bigger storage elements. I love how these elements rest on brass fittings within the frame structure. They almost appear to hove, giving the piece a beautifully light expression. Suitable for home or the office, the system can also be used as a room divider.
