Elevé dans le Weald, une région du sud-est de l’ Angleterre, Ben Parker est parti à Londres pour sa carrière professionnelle. Aussi, lorsque lui et Perrine, sa femme d’origine française, ont trouvé une grande ferme à rénover dans cette région, cela a été l’occasion pour lui, d’un retour au pays de son enfance.
