Fact: We love Sophie Ashby of Studio Ashby’s unfettered yet luxurious interiors. With an eye for detail and character, Studio Ashby projects always pull off the seemingly impossible aesthetic of down-to-earth elegance.

Recently Studio Ashby took this approach to the new One Crown Place project, a 246 apartment mixed-scheme development in London. Commissioned to design the scheme’s nine penthouse apartments and communal areas including a bespoke kitchen, vintage gymnasium, private dining room and lounge, cinema room, studio and a shared terrace, the studio’s vision was to create a sense of domesticity using a natural base palette layered with texture and pattern to add personality. The balance ensures the design never overshadows the building’s striking skyline views of London, but creates a sense of shared community and authentic materials.

While the gymnasium would hardly have been our predicted favourite space, the elegant combination of retro tan leather, crisp white walls and touches of greenery has completely won us over.
