Swedish kitchen brand Nordiska Kök just released a new townhouse project in the Kartoffelrækkena area in Copenhagen. The houses in this area all have the same size and shape, yet all have their personal style and character. Architect Jeppe Dueholm chose durable and sustainable materials for the renovation that would harmonize with the house and it’s soul.

The asymmetrical shelves of the kitchen resemble the facades of the surrounding buildings in the area. The built in bench blends in with its surroundings, but also contributes to the character and social function of the space. I love the way the stained oak cupboards contrast with the light color of the wall and floors. This natural color palette also adds a lot of warmth to this light space.
